Answer
Ms. Snyder, I am glad you asked that question. I rechecked my web page, at http://www.evansville.net/biz/patagent and I didn't see that link. However, they are on the advertising links on my  profile page of Allexperts. That is over my  objections. Allexperts says that they  can't control it, it is all google's fault.

So, I try to warn my questioners about the frauds and scammers, and then list their names in the "key words" that google asks for. Of course, google wants to circulate the names, to help get revenue. The last thing they want is my warnings to get circulated.

So, it is my personal counter attack.

Defrauding inventors is a $300 million or so a year racket.

The sum you mentioned is on the low side for a design patent application, and very low for a utility patent application, and possibly about right for a sloppy provisional application for patent. No one can garuntee a patent will be issued from an application.

Only deal directly with registered patent practitioners that are listed with the patent office. You can check with http:.//www.uspto.gov.

Also, my personal web site, listed above, has an inventors' resources page with a link to the Ron Riley Scam Alert Page, that has many more companies on their caution list.

Othr firms to be wary of include Davidson, Invention Submission Corp., Absolutely New Idea (a successor of New Idea, with the same president), IP&R, Franklin Forge...the list is very long and sad.

I hope that helps. Best wishes on  your project.
