Copyright & Patents/copywriting

Question
I would like to copyright a board game that I have invented. My question is: is it necessary to use an intellectual property lawyer or just try to register with the U.S copyright office?

Answer
To file a copyright, you do not need an IP lawyer. Just go to the copyright office's website and start the filing process.  They walk you through it.  At the end, after you have paid the fee, you can upload the work.  If you have a question, there is a tutorial or you can call them. It is intended to be user friendly and inexpensive.

Good luck to you.
