Question
i have an idea for a patent that i believe will change the world, this isnt some gizmo or gadget it is something that will be bebenficial to every person on this planet and solve a major crisis in this world but i dont have any money or any idea how to get it started and i know that this is something that will probably work i just need help to get going what do i do and do you know of anybody who can help me?

Answer
My suggestion is that you go to your local free public library and get a copy of "Patent It Yourself" by David Pressman, published by Nolo Press. It is not an easy read, but it has all the details about patents and how to apply for a patent yourself. Many first time inventors do just that. If they succeed, they can afford help on the next invention.

Lawyers usually can't work for a piece of the invention, due to partnership agreements & the need for billable hours. You might look up at www.uspto.gov and see if there are any registered patent agents near where you live, and talk to them. If they think you have something, they might be able to help you.

You might consider talking to a university out in your area. If they think it is good, they might be interested in backing you.

Hope that helps. Best wishes!
