Copyright & Patents/Website Idea

Question
I had an idea for a website, but wasn't sure what website ideas can be patented. It seems so few websites are specialized anymore. Like godaddy for example has their hand in many pies completely pushing competition away. lol. At any rate. How can I look up to see if an idea like mine is free for the taking, and then how to get a patent for it?

Answer
Copyright protection is the easiest, cheapest, and first step. Also the easiest to enforce.

It may or may not be patentable. I can suggest a very well qualified patent attorney, Gary K. Price, of Evansville, Indiana for both the copyright and the patent application.

Stay away from any of the invention marketing outfits. My web site has an Inventors Resources page with a link to the Ron Riley (noted inventor rights activist) Caution List.

Among the more notorious are Invention Submission Corporation, their subsidiary, InventHelp, and Absolutely New Idea.

Hope that helps, Best Wishes on your project.
