Question
I am a 24 year old amateur jewelry designer, I have this new exciting concept for a jewelry collection. I need to know if it is possible to patent fashion, and if so, what are the steps to do so?

I am so anxious to receieve feedback
thanks in advance,

Answer
Jewelry usually falls under Design Patents. They are relatively inexpensive.
This is something  you can do yourself. Buy, beg, borrow, or steal a copy of "Patent It Yourself" by David Pressman, published by Nolo Press of Berkely, California. If you do your own drawings, and file it yourself, you are looking at a total of perhaps $800 counting both filing fee & award fee.

If I do it, including drawings, it would run approx. $1,500.

The patent term is good for 14 years, and no maintenance fees are involved.

The library either has, or can get you, a copy.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes on your projects.
