Copyright & Patents/Are WTO patents better than US patents?

Question
By better I mean faster, cheaper (to the inventor), easier and with more worldwide acceptance than world patents.

Any other info about WTO patents will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Short answer: No.

Explanation: The U.S. patents give the inventor the most bang for the buck.
You have to file in each country, for a patent in that particular country. That gets very expensive.  Next the the U.S., the British Commonwealth countries are relatively inexpensive in terms of raw cost, but they are of less value, because of the smaller markets. An exception is for India, which is reasonable, has a large population, and is a fast growing economy. However, enforcement can be difficult.

I hope that helps.

Best wishes on your projects.
