Question
Can you please explain this sentence briefly:":In order to obtain the benefit of the filing date of a provisional application, the claimed subject matter in the later filed non-provisional application must have support in the provisional application"

Should put claims in provisional patent or not advisable,or just a complete description is enough. Thanks

Answer
As I said in a previous answer, claims are not required in the provisional. Sometimes I include them, often I write them for future inclusion to help hone the description, but then don't include them with the provisional. David Pressman, author, "Patent It Yourself" by Nolo Press of Berkeley, California, says he does not include claims in the provisionals he writes.

I respectfully suggest you rely on that text, not Google. Google is the outfit that places ads for doubtful invention marketing companies on allexperts.com, especially on my profile page, so I wouldn't trust them on anything!

Best wishes,
