About Neal Ziring
Expertise
Experienced user of versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and X3 mostly for web page graphics, some photo retouching, some technical document illustration. Right now I only have versions 12 and X3 available to me, so I'll be best at answering questions about those.

Corel Photo Paint - t-shirt transfers?

Expert: Neal Ziring - 12/13/2008

Question
Hello, I have recently been working on an advertisement project, and have chosen street-marketing, ads by t-shirts. I have designed my graphic on corel photo paint, and am using dark T-shirts/dark t shirt transfer paper. On photo paint, there is a print setting for t shirt transfers, but prints the image backwards as that is the default for white/light colored shirts. For dark colored shirts, however, the image is printed directly and does not need to be flipped. Would you know of any ways to change the default on the t-shirt setting? I am in desperate need. (Or would you know if a high-quality print job would do it?) Thanks, and have a nice day.

Answer
Reed,

I did not know that dark transfer paper prints didn't need to
be flipped.  Weird.

Anyway, I don't believe there is any way to change PhotoPaint's
default setting for t-shirt transfers.  However, you should be
able to go to the Prepress tab of the print dialog, and check
or uncheck the box labeled "mirror".

If that doesn't work for you, then simply flip the image
yourself before printing it.  That is very easy.  From the
main menu bar:   Image->Flip->Flip horizontally.  Then, when
the print setting flip it again, it will be back to direct.
Don't forget to save the flipped version under a different
name!

That's all I can think of right now.  Hope it works.
