Corel Photo Paint - LOST MY TOP TOOL BAR IN PHOTO-PAINT

Expert: Neal Ziring - 3/11/2008

Question
I have lost the top tool bar in Corel Photo-Paint 9.  I can't do anything once I open it and can't even close without using Alt/ctl/Del to close out the program.  How do I get this toolbar back?

Answer
Frank,

Yes, I know about the issue you're experiencing.  It is easy
to accidentally hide a toolbar in PhotoPaint.  Fortunately, it
is also easy to restore it.

If you have any toolbars or status bars left, right-click on
one of those, and you should see a menu that will allow you to
restore the "Menu Bar".  If that doesn't work, try right-clicking
in the unused image area, and that should also give you a menu
that includes "Toolbars >", go to that submenu and select
"Menu Bar".

If none of these work, you can delete the customization directory
for PhotoPaint.   It will lose all your custom settings, but it
will restore the default user interface.  On PhotoPaint 12, the
directory is
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Corel\Graphics12
so it should be something similar for PhotoPaint 9.
Just make sure PhotoPaint is not running, then delete that folder,
then restart PhotoPaint.  It should rebuild the folder, and in the
process reset the interface to its defaults.

Good luck...
