Corel Photo Paint - cloning - resize source

Expert: Neal Ziring - 3/14/2008

Question
I am attempting to clone an individual's face onto another photo.  There is just one problem.  I follow the steps as directed.  When I get to the step of clicking it on the destination photo, the cloan is WAY to large.  I have tried making the photo smaller and anything else I can think of.  I also tried just masking the face and moving it throught the copy paste method and I have the same problem.  Is there a step that I am missing?

Thank you,
Tracy

It is actually better if the face you are pasting in is larger
than the original.  When you shrink it, it will still look okay.

You don't want to resize the source, that's the wrong approach.

The step you seem to be missing is that the newly pasted sub-image
is an object (in any version of PhotoPaint later than version 7).
Objects can be moved, resized, skewed, recolored, and modified
separately from the rest of the image.  In your case, you need
to resize the pasted object, and possibly adjust brightness and
contrast to match the destination photo.

The default Paste behavior is to paste as an object, but if you
have trouble with this, try Edit->Paste->Paste as New Object.

Anyway, once you have pasted the new face into the destination
photo, you need to carefully adjust its size until it covers the
area you want to cover.  You may be wondering: how can I adjust
the size of the pasted object?  It's easy, just drag the handles
that appear at the corners of the image!  When you've got it just
right, select Object->Combine->Combine All Objects with Background.

For more information, look up "objects" in the PhotoPaint help.
