About Neal Ziring
Expertise
Experienced user of versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and X3 mostly for web page graphics, some photo retouching, some technical document illustration. Right now I only have versions 12 and X3 available to me, so I'll be best at answering questions about those.

Corel Photo Paint - clone tool

Expert: Neal Ziring - 9/22/2009

Question
I had looked on the web for the answer as to why the clone tool in Corel 14 Paint was not working and saw your answer to this previous question.
For some reason my clone tool has gone on the frtiz also. The only option now available is the custom clone.  All the myriad of options previously available are no longer.
I've tried a repair of installation.  Do you think I need to uninstall and reinstall?
I love Corel since version 8.
Thanks for any insight or assistance you may provide!

Answer
Felicia,

There are a couple of things you could try before trying to uninstall and reinstall.

1. Try creating a new workspace.  You can do this from the General section
  of the PhotoPaint options.

2. Try deleting your PhotoPaint Application Data.  Make sure no Corel products
are running, then use the Windows Explorer to to the
  C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Corel folder, and rename
the Graphics14 directory to "backup14".   Then start PhotoPaint.  It should
recreate the folder with all default settings.

3. Customization - try removing the Clone tool from the toolbar, and then adding
  it back.

That's all I can think of right now.  Hope this helps...
