Corel Photo Paint/converting corel to AI

Question
I have several drawings done as jpegs in corel 8, and now I want to convert them to vector files for adobe illustrator.  When I use corel trace and then open them in AI, there are blocks around the images.  Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Answer
April,

Well, I haven't used the CorelTrace from Corel 8 in
years, so I don't remember if it has any strange quirks.
However, in general, it is better to save the output
of CorelTrace in CDR or CMX format, open the CDR or
CMX file in CorelDraw, clean it up if necessary,
then save from CorelDraw into EPS or AI format.

Sorry, I don't know any better guidance for this
problem.

Experienced user of versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and X3 mostly for web page graphics, some photo retouching, some technical document illustration. Right now I only have versions 12 and X3 available to me, so I'll be best at answering questions about those.
