Corel Photo Paint/pixel color filtering
Expert: Neal Ziring - 3/10/2006
QuestionHi, here is the question:
I made this pixelized picture of the head of a woman. The size is 157 wide and 96 high (in pixels). That makes around 15000 pixels.I did a gradient in black and red color, so i ended up with a large number of red midtones.I want to to know this:
every tone of red on the picture to be selected in group, no matter where it is on the picture. For example I choose the pixel on column number 95 on the 96st row and I wanna see all the pixels that are exactly the same color or have a VERY slight difference.
Thanks in advance, I hope you can help me.

Yes, Corel PhotoPaint can do this. It is called a Color
Mask. To learn all about it, look up "Color Mask" in the
PhotoPaint help.
To do a simple color mask, follow the steps below.
1. Bring up the Color Mask dialog by selecting
menu item Mask->Color Mask...
2. On the Color Mask dialog, identify one or more
colors to select. The easiest way to do this is
by using the eyedropper color selection tool in
the top left corner of the Color Mask dialog
3. Set the selection tolerance for the colors. For
selecting "all the pixels that are exactly the
same color or have a VERY slight difference" you
should set the tolerance to 1. For exact match,
set the tolerance to 0.
4. Click on the OK button.
You'll see that it selects colored pixels everywhere in the
image.
Hope this helps...
