Question
I created a CorelDraw file. After rebooting my system, the file refuses to open, giving an 'error reading: document' message. But I can see my drawing in the preview window. How can I repair or open this file, or at least salvage some of the drawing which took me so long to design?
Hmmm how frustrating this is. The file seems basically intact because the preview part is still working. The preview is stored separately in the file header, it does not mean that the whole file is being read successfully.
Try starting a new blank document and the importing your file by using File.Import.
If that doesn't work perhaps see if a friend with CorelDraw can open the file. If you want to send me a copy I will see if I can do anything with it: allexperts@nhbusiness.co.uk.

| Comment | Thank you for your response. I had already tried importing the file into a blank document without any success. Unfortunately, the file is too big (5.5mb) for me to send using my current bandwidth, so I guess I will have to do the design all over again. I wish future versions of Corel Draw will take care of this annoying type of error incidence which may be due to some compatibility issues with the Windows OS. | ||
