CorelDraw/Remove a paragraph text from shape

Question
Hello there.
When you create a shape and add a paragraph text inside it (using the Text Tool and clicking inside the shape when the mouse shows "AB"), how can you then remove this paragraph text?
Thanks for helping.

Answer
Hi again Quentin.

At my office I have resolved this matter more fully, not really believing it was not possible to separate the two items.

In the Arrange menu you will find the command, "Break Paragraph Text inside a Path Apart" and this command will separate the two items. But, your text paragraph will lose its shape.

This does not matter if you want to delete the text and begin again. But if you want to delete the object and leave the text in the correct shape, select the object by itself (deselect everything then click on the object) and press Arrange/Convert to curves or Ctrl-Q. The object can then be deleted, leaving the shaped text behind on its own.

There may be times when it may be best to leave the object in place (perhaps for a smooth outline to wrap paragraph text around), but give it a white outline if you don't want to see it.

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
