CorelDraw/Invalid File Format

Question
I get invalid file format when trying to import eps files and have used the correct extension for importing. Is there an add on or something to correct this? I have to keep sending my files to an out source to edit to another format...

Answer
You did not say which version you're having trouble with. I have successfully test-imported all three flavours of EPS files created by Photoshop with no problems with CorelDraw X4, although the image quality was unimpressive.

I would proceed by creating a very simple EPS of your own using whichever software you have available. Just a square will do, to see if it works. This will go some way towards finding out if your copy of CorelDraw may need to be re-installed.

Providing the above test is successful I am thinking that there may be a genuine problem with the files you are having trouble with. Can they be saved in a different EPS flavour, or perhaps you could try PDF or AI, which are also both lossless.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
