Question
The colour palette in corel draw 11 has turned to neon colours. How do i turn it back to the original cmyk settings which are not neon. I have tried by changing the colour palette to various options & also by pressing F8 while restarting corel to default settings. Can it be solved by not reloading corel...Plz advise

Answer
Either you have accidentally swapped to a different palette, or the palette has become corrupted.

I have placed my original CORELDRW.CPL (palette) file on our webserver here:
http://www.nhad.co.uk/ads/coreldrw.cpl.txt

Don't try to open the file. RIGHT-click, Save Target As.. and place it in your version of the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4\Languages\EN\Custom Data

When you have copied the file, rename it to coreldrw.cpl. I just put .txt on the end because Internet Explorer flatly refuses to download files ending in .cpl. Presumably this is to help novices from harming their PCs with control panel components when they're exceeding their bandwidth allowance on obscure porn sites in the small hours, who knows.

Anyway, you now need to open this palette in CorelDraw:
In CorelDraw X4 it's Window/Colour Palettes/Open Palette..
In CorelDraw 8 it's View/Colour Palette/Load Palette.. (which opens up a Docker, then you need to click Load... at the bottom.

I'm sure you'll figure it out from here!

PS. I am not sure if my X4 palette will be compatible with your slightly earlier program but I see no reason why not.

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
