CorelDraw/file can not open

Question
my question is that, i have coreldraw file which properties is 256MB, but when this file is open he did not show data on screen and show only blank page.

Answer
That is a VERY large CorelDraw file which will take a long time to load, several minutes or longer, and will need a powerful PC with plenty of memory. However if the file does load, it is unusual that you cannot see it!

You can tell it has finished loading when the menu starts to work. I say again, this file will take a long time to load.

When the file has loaded, open the Object Manager with Window/Dockers/Object Manager. It will open as a narrow window on the right. It will show you all the different pages and objects in the file. I expect there are one or more images. Click the "eye" icon at the left side of Page 1, Layer 1. The eye will close (and the drawing will be hidden). Now click the eye again to open it and press Ctrl+W to refresh the screen.

If this does not help, click the plus sign "+" to the left of the eye, alongside Page 1, Layer 1. Check that you can see a list of all the objects on your page. If there is nothing there I am sorry but your file is damaged.

If there are one or more things in a list, you should be able to see them on the screen, but perhaps they are off the page somewhere. Press Ctrl+A (select all) and then Shift+F2 (zoom to selection). This will change the view to show everything on the screen at the same time. If the page does not change when you press Shift+F2 then CorelDraw thinks your file is empty and I do not know how to recover your file in this case.

To be honest I think you are asking for problems by creating such a massive file. May I suggest that in the future you consider reducing your images to a suitable resolution in another program before importing into CorelDraw.

Please let me know how you get on.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
