CorelDraw/CorelDRAW 12 & X3

Question
I used both of these programs on 3-3-09 and they worked fine.  When I tried to open them on 3-4-09 I got this message in a box titled Corel X3
KEY: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\CorelDraw\13.0" Value:"ConfigDir" not found in the Registry
When I clicked OK I got a box titled Bad Language Directory which read - The base UI Language directory is invalid.
When I clicked OK on this box it took me back to the first message which then took me to the second box.  I had to go through both of them 5 times before I got a box titled:
MicroSoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program:...\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 13\Programs\CorelDRW.exe
This Application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have tried using the F8 key while opening both 12 & X3 and this does not do anything.  Do you have any solutions?

Thanks, Don

Answer
Something funny has happened to your registry settings by the sound of it.

The fastest way to fix this type of thing is to completely remove the programs and then REBOOT and then install them again. In half an hour you should be fine again.

It's a good idea to defrag your drive after the reboot too.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
