CorelDraw/RIP fails while processing a EPS file.

Question
The file was exported from Corel 12. The original CDR file was assembled from 8 different complex (effects with transparency, micro text, gradients and one TIFF). This big file was about 640Mb. Is any better way to assembly files like this.

Answer
This file is absolutely enormous. I am not surprised your RIP is running out of memory.

Transparency, micro text and gradients are not particularly large when the file is saved. Therefore I suspect it is your TIFF causing the size problem.

If you are printing large-format (A0 posters, etc) and want high resolution, this might be normal.

But if you are printing A4 or A3 I would recommend resampling the TIFF at a lower resolution. 300dpi is plenty (even though inkjet printers are rated at 1200dpi or more). Try it and see what you think! Your file will become about the square root of 640MB and be much easier and more enjoyable to work on.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
