CorelDraw/save to eps from CorelDraw

Question
I have created an illustration in CorelDraw10 that I need to save out as vector ready. When I save it as an eps, it becomes bitmapped. When I save it as an A.I. file, many of the components change. Is my program too old? What might be a solution to get this file saved as vector ready?

Answer
Some of CorelDraw's previous attempts at export filters have been an embarrassment. I used version 8 until quite recently and it was totally incapable of exporting a decent PDF, even though it was there in the list of export options.

I presume you have tried all the vector formats available and none of them work. In that case you're going to have to try to get the file converted by a later version of the program, hoping that Corel have spent a bit more time on it by now.

I'll have a go with my X4 for you if you like. Send your CDR to allexperts@nhbusiness.co.uk and I will take a look tomorrow. If you're using any non-standard fonts, save the file with the "Embed Fonts using TruDoc" option. Let me know what program your file is intended for.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
