CorelDraw/Corel Draw 12

Question
I just built a Windows XP pro 64 using I7 920 chip, and eVga-Nvida 9800 video card.  Corel 12 installs great, but when importing a jpg file, it crashes with nor error messages. Uninstalled and reinstalled, but same problem

Answer
Ouch, I don't really know what to say to this one I'm afraid.

Presumably you have already tried a couple of different .jpgs, just in case it's a bad file. I would also try File/Import as well as drag and drop. By the way, you sometimes need to select the correct file type in File/Import (the "All Files" is sometimes insufficient) to tell CorelDraw which import filter to use. Even so, the program should not just bomb out like this.

Apart from this, I hope you're enjoying your new PC!

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
