Question
How can I compress a coreldraw x3 file? its got only 5 pages but is 23mb. I tried putting 2 pages in one file and 3 in the other. However each of them remained 23mb.I have to send it in the same format as the receiver needs to be able to make desired changes to the file. Please advice. Thanks!

Answer
It sounds like you have large images on your pages.

When you take your massive images from your digital camera and shrink them onto your page, click the Resample Image button (or Bitmaps/Resample). This resizes the image to 300dpi and your file will be smaller.

You could compress the .cdr file into a .zip file, but .jpgs will not compress much so it's probably not going to help.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
