CorelDraw/CMYK in Corel12

Question
Hi,

I'm busy working on a photo portfolio which has to be commercially printed. I converted all my images from RGB to CMYK using PhotoshopCS. However, when I import the converted images into Corel, they are much darker than it's supposed to be...up to the point where it becomes unsuitable for the purpose it's intended for. How can I fix this?

Tx, LING

Answer
Hello Ling

I don't immediately know why your images are darkening in CorelDraw, but I suggest creating a quick .pdf and taking a look at it, because I've found the .pdf is usually quite close to printed output and the photos may look lighter again.

Otherwise why not convert your images to CMYK in CorelDraw and see if that improves things.

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
