Question
Hi Ran I WAS Working with coreldraw then it went not responding error i left it about 2 hours and it was the same not responding so i use task manager to close it down now am trying to reopen the file but it is not opening when i put the mouse over the file it reads 2.4gb so that tells me that my file is there but it is opening as a new blank page please help

Answer
Hi Randolph

2.4GB is an absolutely massive file which must surely be corrupted in some horrible way. I would probably delete it and start again!

If the file will open, use the Object Manager to inspect individual elements (Window/Dockers/Object Manager). If the page looks blank, try clicking the eye icon in the Object Manager to open it, just in case some of the layers have become switched off.

However with a file of such a huge size, it doubt if CorelDraw can open it and it would take a very very long time, as you already know!

If you regularly find your file sizes becoming extremely large, you must be working with high-resolution images but not resampling properly. When you use an image in CorelDraw, always use Bitmaps/Convert To Bitmap and once the image is positioned click Resample Bitmap. 300dpi is enough for printed output, anything more and you are asking for large-file trouble!

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
