Question
Hi Mate
I cannot open a CDR file that was created in Corel V.9
with my Corel V.13

I can see the thumbnail

Corel will start - but only shows a blank page

if I try to import in corel or Corel photopaint
I get this message
XXX.cdr is not importable using the selected filter, or the format is not supported

This has happened to me before, Even from V12

Any Ideas ?

I have googled a lot, cant seem to find an answer

Cheers

If I can help you with anything,
let me know

Answer
Hi,

The older files should open easily with your newer CorelDraw (although you might have some minor issues if you now have different fonts installed).

If they are not opening it suggests either a problem with CorelDraw X3 OR a problem with your old V9.

I suggest you send one of the problem files to a friend, to see if he can open it.

Alternatively, send a copy to me at allexperts@nhbusiness.co.uk and I'll take a look for you.

Expertise

My main area of continuous expertise with CorelDraw involves setting press advertisements and I have rarely used it to produce complex drawings. However as director of a small company I have amassed a good deal of background knowledge of computers, various printers and networks over the years. When it comes to problem-solving, I have a long history of having nobody to ask but myself and, lately, the internet!
