Question
Hi,

I have a multilayer CorelDraw image file that I need to convert either into a tiff or a Photoshop format file, whilst retaining the layers. Every time I export the file to PSD or tiff it seems to flatten and turn the image into a single layer. What am I doing wrong? I am new to CorelDraw (am using version X5). Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Sue,
ok so this is pretty tricky to do as Corel and Adobe dont really communicate well even when not dealing with layers. The best advice I can give you is to export to Corel Photo Paint first. This should retain the integrity of the layers. Then export as a photoshop document.

If you are unlucky enough to not have corel photopaint then you will have to export the corel draw document layer by layer and then import layer by layer into photoshop.

Be sure to check all export options and file type preferences as well as there are subtle effects that can make importing more difficult.

Good luck and I hope that this helps.
