CorelDraw/CorelDraw12 fails to launch
Expert: Elmer - 9/3/2010
QuestionI wiped my computer clean this weekend and reinstalled all
of my software. I installed CorelDraw 12. When I did this,
I had a portable USB hard drive hooked up to my laptop. If I
launch CorelDraw without the USB hard drive connected, I get
the start up logo, and then it fails to launch the
application. If I plug in the drive, everything is fine.
I loaded the software from the CD, not the hard drive.
If I launch Corel PhotoPaint, everything is fine, with or
without the hard drive connected. Any thoughts?
AnswerHiya Jeff,
sheesh, certainly sounds like a wierd problem you have there. I am unsure what is causing this problem because it sounds so bizzarre!
Some thoughts could be:
1. Perhaps upon installation, the destination folder may have been altered. I dont think this is the case as it is highly unlikely but check your stick drive for hidden folders just to be sure.
2. On program set-up, the program takes a profile of the computer including all drives. If your stick was in at the time of installation, it may not recognise your computer as being complete without it.
3. If neither of these resolve your issue, then my final recommendation would be to un-install and re-install the software without the stick drive in.
I wish you the best of luck in fixing this problem and I hope I have been of help.
Cheers,
Elmer.
