CorelDraw - Importing files from Autocad to Corel

Expert: Alex Gray - 6/2/2006

Question
I am running Autocad 2002 and Corel V11. I am saving the drawings as a dwg file.
I need to import these files in Corel. I plotted the dwg to a file (plt) using a HP plotter driver.
When I import a plt file to Corel using the HPGL filter the end result is an “exploded drawing” of the original drawing created. The objects (including the text) become segmented. Have I done anything wrong?

Regards
Eliane

Sorry it sounds more like CorelDraw is misinterpeting or a setting in the AutoCAD export that's wrong. It's not a problem I have seen before.

Have you tried exporting/importing a very simple drawing first to see if the basics are right? Might be worth doing that and if even a very simple drawing is 'exploded' then the chances are that it is a wrong setting somewhere, rather than a software fault.

You could also try a different HPGL driver. Use one of the olest simplest ones such as (from memory of many years ago) the 7475 plotter.
