Question
Hello-
My husband and I are teachers and would like to move to Costa Rica for a year some day.  We are just in the planning stage and we don't know where to start.  I have a teaching credential and MA in Spanish and my husband just completed his credential in Special Ed. and PE.  Is it possible to live and teach in Costa Rica?  We have two children and want them to be in school while we are there as well.  I have been reading through the previous posts but I am confused with some of the answers. Can you give us any advice? Thank you.

Answer
You will first have to apply for permanent residency and then have your diplomas and credentials acknowledged in Costa Rica.
There are many Teachers in Costa Rica however there is a demand for native english speaking teachers in bilingual schools.
It is advisable to begin the process with enough time, aproximately a year or so because immigrtion is generally slow.
