I got married in 2007 to an costa rican (tico). I am from the USA. I hired a law firm in Costa Rica to do the divorce registry for me. they told me that it would only take one year before the divorce is final. now later, they tell me that i have to wait 3 more years and pay more money. My question to you since i have been living in the USA separated from him and he's in Costa Rica do i still have to wait another 3 more years? Who can help me. I would love to resolve this issue quickly.

I can help you with the divorce process, until recently the law was that a couple had to wait 3 years after the date of marriage to start divorce procedures.
That has changed and their is no minimum limit to begin the process.
