Expert: Visit Costa Rica - 4/17/2011

Hello!

I am  writing You for a request of consultation about travelling to Costa Rica. We are travelling to Costa Rica in November. We have travelled a lot in Europe and other parts of the world but never to Central or South America. We already have return tickets to Caracas, Venezuela but in search for tickets from Caracas to San Jose, Costa Rica we haven't succeeded yet. Everything we find on web is really expensive, therefore we are looking for an expert who could give us advice where to look for better deals. Maybe You can help with an advice about this.
- How and where locals buy airline tickets to get the best price?
- Is it cheaper to buy airline tickets in travel agencies in Venezuela?
- Do we need someone local to buy them for us(if it is cheaper)?
- Is there any other way to find cheaper airline tickets?
- Is there any other way(ferry) how to get from Caracas to Costa Rica?

how are you? thanks for your questions though it is a little out of my expertise
I know about Costa Rica, I don't know about Venezuela so I cannot help you with buying tickets there
here we have agencies they charge an additional charge if you buy it with them it is an operational charge, most of the people that buys tickets and handles internet buy through expedia at least my friends
you might want to buy the ticket to Venezuela but with a multi destination so you buy several destinations in one ticket that is how I van done it when I have travel to Europe
entering through Madrid and exiting through Rome example

if you see the map Venezuela is very far away from Costa Rica we are 3 countries away and no there is no ferry, between us

it will be nice if you plan the 2 trips separately because logistics are very difficult, Venezuela is a very big country and though Costa Rica is small we have lots of things to do one one day tours
