Counseling - anger, violence and rage among youths

Expert: Pam Dyson, MA, PLPC - 12/22/2007

Question
how do you control anger and violence, does divorce affect the peformance of students,if so,which help can you give?,alcohol disturbs my family, help.

Answer
Hi Peterson,

You have asked many questions. Without you giving me more information it's difficult for me to address these questions but I will try.

Anger can be controlled but it depends upon whether you are speaking of a child, an adolescent or an adult. If you could reply back to me with more specific details I can offer some insights.

Divorce does effect both children and adolescents. It can effect the way they feel and it can effect their academic performance. This web site address children and divorce: http://kidsturn.org/

When you say alcohol disturbs your family I am not certain in what way. Does someone in our family drink too much? Do you drink and your family doesn't like that you do? More information from you will enable me to address your concerns.

Sincerely,
Pam
