Country Music/song lyrics

QuestionI was on a week long horseback trip through the mountains of Idaho with my dad, when an old cowboy pulled out his guitar and started to sing a song. I have since heard it on the radio, but can never figure out who sings it. It is more of a cowboy on the range type song. I can't remember most of it, but I just remember that in the chorus the cowboy sings "Who woop who woop who" Pretty vague I know, but can you help me with the artist and song title. I know it is an old song. Thanks.
AnswerHello Marino,
I'd really need to be a bit of a miracle worker to come up with a song based on "who woop who woop who", but it might, just might, be the song "Cattle Call" which was made famous by Eddy Arnold back in 1955. You can hear him singing it at the following site:

Here are the lyrics:
The cattle are prowlin' and the coyotes are howlin'
Way out where the dogies bawl
Where spurs are a-jinglin' a cowboy is singin'
This lonesome cattle call
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo
He rides in the sun, till his day's work is done
As he rounds up the cattle each fall
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Singin' his cattle call
For hours he will ride on the range far and wide
When the night wind blows up a squall
His heart is a feather in all kinds of weather
He sings his cattle call
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo
He's brown as a berry from ridin' the prairie
And sings with an ol' western drawl
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Singin' his cattle call
Hope that's the one. Cheers........Mel.
