this song is about a guy who attends a class reunion and while he is dancing or talking to an old girlfriend when she puts a move on him he resists and repeats that he doesn't behave like that because he's from the old cshool

Answer
Hi, Cheryl

I believe this is the song you requested lyrics for:

Old School
Artist: John Conlee
Album: 20 Greatest Hits
Songwriters: Don Schlitz, R Smith
Release Date: 01/01/1987  Label MCA Records

I can remember us cruising through town
In your daddy's car with the top pulled down
Looking so coll
We came from different sides of the track
But we still held hands out back of the old school.

We spent all our time together
Laughing and having fun
We swoare that we'd love forever
Caust that's the way things were done
At the old school.

We both made it to our graduation
You chose a college
I chose a vocation driving eighteen wheels
I became a part of your past
You went and married some guy in your class
He was a big deal

Your picture was in all the papers
You made such a lovely bride
They said you were going places
But me I just went for a ride
Down by the old school.

I got married to a sweet young girl
And kept driving for the line
Your husband made his mark on the world
Then he left you behind.

In the big house
With the swimming pool
Now you drive your kids
Down to the old school

Now here we are at the reunion of the class
You ask my wife if we could have one dance
For the old times
We slow danced across the old gym floor
You whispered it could be just like before
Call me sometime

You asked if I understand you
"Well, yes, I'm afraid I do"
You said everybody does it
Well, I don't care if they do

Im from the old school
I'm from the old school
Where hearts stay true
I'm from the old school
I thought you were too.

I can usually locate song by artist, excerpts and even circa around when the song was released in country, rock and other genres. ****** PLEASE do not ask me about videos. I do not watch them.******** I've been singing since I started talking, singing in public since I was 7. Still at it at 56. I have an extensive repertoire as well as lots of music. I also actively research for other people, including local djs, music that no one else can find, especially being given just paraphrased lines of songs. I'm the one @ karaoke that usually gets asked, "Who did this song?" or "Do you know a song that goes" and if it's country, I usually can name the song and artist, sometimes give within a couple of years the year of release. I've got a lot of lyrics in my database, as well as friends with working musicians who do open mic jams who have even more extensive databases than I do.
