Question
Hello Mel,
I'm trying to identify a country song, probably from the 40's or 50's that I heard on a television show. All I can give you to go on is, "Cares of the past are behind," and the first word can also be, "tears," fears." It's hard to tell. Also, it sounds like more than one male vocal. However, I need to try to identify this song.

Thanks in Advance,

Ed

I'm a roaming cowboy riding all day long,
Tumbleweeds around me sing their lonely song
Nights underneath the prairie moon
I ride along and sing this tune

See them tumbling down
Pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds

Cares of the past are behind
Nowhere to go but I'll find
Just where the trail will wind
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds

I know when night has gone
That a new world's born at dawn

I'll keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds

Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.

Expertise

I have been hooked on Country music since first hearing Jim Reeves in the late 50s. Two of the greatest nights of my life were seeing The Mavericks and Reba McEntire live in London. I am more at home with traditional Country music, but am happy to try and help with any questions relating to songs up to 2000. Please note that I DO NOT have the same knowledge about country music videos or singers private lives.
