QuestionQUESTION: There's an old country song that a friend sings. He said it's an old Conway Twitty called i dropped it. Well i caan't find nothing like that. I can't remember much of it but i think it starts out like "I was a man with the world in my hand but i dropped it." Then later another line says "He took my girl, he put my world, right in his pocket". around the end. Can you help me figure out the actual title and/or artist. Thank you
ANSWER: Hello Tony,
You're right on both counts. It is called "But I Dropped It" and it was by Conway Twitty
I was a man with a world in his hand, but I dropped it
A world of dreams, a world of plans, but I dropped it
It didn't lay there very long I turned around and it was gone
He took my girl he put, my world right in his pocket
All she wanted was my love and understanding
I didn't care enough, I wasn't bear enough and she got lonely
I was a man with a world in his hand, but I dropped it
A world of dreams, a world of plans but I dropped it
And good things don't just lay around neglected on the ground
He took my girl, he put my world right in his pocket
He took my girl, he put my world right in his pocket
Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.

QUESTION: Could you help me figure out which album i might find it on? I have looked everywhere. That is why i figured i had the wrong title or artist.
AnswerHello again Tony,
I believe this song was recorded in 1967 and re-issued much later on the 1978 album "Conway Twitty Country". I've checked around the Internet and it appears that it is not available on any CD at the present time. You might find a copy of the album on one of the sites like www.ebay.com
Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.
