Question
i had a tape when i was a little boy that was called truck driving songs. there was chisum, fine as wine, copenhagen... and i just found this chris ledoux but i dont really sound like him. so i wunder if there was someone doing these songs before him. the tape is lost and i miss it something bad

Answer
Hello Thorulf,

Chris Ledoux certainly recorded all three of those songs, "Chisum" was recorded in 1979 and the other two were sometime earlier. These were all recordings from his early days, so it would be understandable if his voice might have sounded a little different. He didn't start having hits until the 1990's.

Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.

Expertise

I have been hooked on Country music since first hearing Jim Reeves in the late 50s. Two of the greatest nights of my life were seeing The Mavericks and Reba McEntire live in London. I am more at home with traditional Country music, but am happy to try and help with any questions relating to songs up to 2000. Please note that I DO NOT have the same knowledge about country music videos or singers private lives.
