Question
i have a song on a tape that i recorded off the radio in the mid to late 80's, it is called Miss Understanding, the dj says it is john wesley ryles, I cant seem to find out anything about this song or if he is the artist, can you help? thanks, Kathy

Answer
Merry Christmas, Kathy,

I found quite a bit of music that John Wesley Ryles was listed in the credits.  John only released 6 albums, one of them with two other artist.  I could not locate a track listing for him on any of them and most of the vinyls were not available.
There is a song called "Miss Understanding" and one titled "Little Miss Understanding," which is by several artists, including Graham Parker. I've found "Miss Understanding" by Jason Falkner, along with several other artists having versions of similar "misunderstanding.'

Mr Ryles is credited with a lot more entries as a background vocalist which makes searches even more detailed, because any credits and detail listings for cds he has been listed on as background vocalist will generate a 'hit' in the search engines.  He's recorded with a lot of folks in Nashville.  In fact, that is what he is more known for.

I was unable to locate "Miss Understandings" or "Misunderstandings" under his name anywhere.  I've searched several search engines, Itunes and www.mp3.com, where I did find his name listed, but no track listing of songs came up for any of the albums listed.

I'm sorry.

I do not watch them.******** I've been singing since I started talking, singing in public since I was 7. Still at it at 56. I have an extensive repertoire as well as lots of music. I also actively research for other people, including local djs, music that no one else can find, especially being given just paraphrased lines of songs. I'm the one @ karaoke that usually gets asked, "Who did this song?" or "Do you know a song that goes" and if it's country, I usually can name the song and artist, sometimes give within a couple of years the year of release. I've got a lot of lyrics in my database, as well as friends with working musicians who do open mic jams who have even more extensive databases than I do.
