Question
There are 2 songs that I can't figure out who sang them. The first is a song that is a rodeo song with the lyric,"oh hand, don't you let go." The second is a song about a horseman. I thought it was titled, The Man With The Gentle Hands. I also thought that Ian Tyson sang it but I can't find that title on his website. I think that I'm done thinkin about it and would love for you to think on it for a while and let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks ahead of time for your time.

Answer
Sorry, Dennis,

I did not get any search hits on either request.

I did get "Whatever Happens" (Carlos Santana and Michael Jackson)

Whatever Happens

He gives another smile, tries to understand her side
To show that he cares, she can't stay in the room
She's consumed with everything that's been goin' on
She says

[Chorus]
Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand

Everything will be alright, he assures her
But she doesn't hear a word that he says
Preoccupied, she's afraid
Afraid what they've been doin's not right
He doesn't know what to say, so he prays
Whatever, whatever, whatever

[Chorus]
Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't you let go of my hand

Don't let go of my hand
Don't let go of my hand

He's working day and night, thinks he'll make her happy
Forgetting all the dreams that he had
He doesn't realize it's not the end of the world
It doesn't have to be that bad
She tried to explain, "It's you that makes me happy,"
Whatever, whatever, whatever

[Chorus]
Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't you let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't you let go of my hand

Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand
Whatever happens, don't you let go of my hand

Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand

[Carlos Santana:] Thank you, man!
[Michael Jackson:] Thank you, Carlos!

Another Option:  "A Touch of Your Hand" by the Nylons

How do I tell I`m not dreaming
When do I know that it`s true
Why is the heartache not healin`
I can`t shake this feelin`
When I`m thinking of you

Who is the face in the mirror
Where is the man I once knew
I can`t believe that I`m fallin`
I hear your voice callin`
Should I run back to you

Why do I think I`m in love
With a touch of your hand
Why do I think I`m in love
With a touch of your hand
I lose all control
With a touch of your hand
It`s a feelin` I can`t understand
With a touch of your hand

How did you find my emotions
You made it hard to be strong
Now it`s too late to refuse you
I don`t want to lose you
I`ve been waiting so long

CHORUS

Don`t you let go
This is just the beginning
Don`t you let go
There are so many things that I wanted to say
Don`t you let go
I`ve just got to know
If it`s love, let me know where I stand
With a touch of your hand
With a touch of your hand

I can usually locate song by artist, excerpts and even circa around when the song was released in country, rock and other genres. ****** PLEASE do not ask me about videos. I do not watch them.******** I've been singing since I started talking, singing in public since I was 7. Still at it at 56. I have an extensive repertoire as well as lots of music. I also actively research for other people, including local djs, music that no one else can find, especially being given just paraphrased lines of songs. I'm the one @ karaoke that usually gets asked, "Who did this song?" or "Do you know a song that goes" and if it's country, I usually can name the song and artist, sometimes give within a couple of years the year of release. I've got a lot of lyrics in my database, as well as friends with working musicians who do open mic jams who have even more extensive databases than I do.
