Question
Was Conway Twitty the first to sing the song titled "Slow Hand?"  What year did the song come out?

Answer
Hello Donna,

Written by John Bettis and Michael Clark, "Slow Hand" was originally a hit for The Pointer Sisters in mid-1981. Anita Pointer took the lead vocal, with Ruth and June Pointer providing the backing.

Conway Twitty released his version in April of the following year, 1982.

Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.

Expertise

I have been hooked on Country music since first hearing Jim Reeves in the late 50s. Two of the greatest nights of my life were seeing The Mavericks and Reba McEntire live in London. I am more at home with traditional Country music, but am happy to try and help with any questions relating to songs up to 2000. Please note that I DO NOT have the same knowledge about country music videos or singers private lives.
