I've got a road trip tape I made back in late 1983 and there area few of the songs I can't find after numerous google searches on the lyrics.  It was taped off the local FM Country Radio station as the source hence I have no record of who sung what.  There are four songs I can't ID based on lyrics searches on the internet.

Song #1:  Male vocalist with lyrics "misunderstanding, that's what your name should be;  misunderstanding, I've let you down again;"

Song #2:  Male vocalist (sounds like Don Williams?) with Lyrics that contain lyrics with these phrases: "Lord, would it help if I talked to you down on my knees;  show me a sign, answer a poor man's prayer; Lord if you hear this poor man praying;"  

Song #3:  Male vocalist again with song lyrics containing these phrases: "There's only black and white, here in black and white like an old time movie;  black and white written out in a steady hand;  all the colors that we shared;"

Song #4:  Female vocalist singing the song "Hangin Around" with lyrics "I'm hangin' around hopin' you'll get lonely
I'm hangin' around though you say we're through
You're tellin' me now that you'll never miss me
But I'm hangin' around just in case you do"

Hello Geoff,

#1 Possibly "Miss Misunderstanding" by David Wills from 1983.

#3 David Frizzell had a song out in 1983 called "Black And White".

#4 The Whites (Buck White and his daughters Sharon and Cheryl) had a version of this song out in 1983, with one of the girls taking lead vocal.

I have no idea about the other one.
