Question
re: question about "Now I don't care if Im not the first etc etc which you answered 12/07. I remember this song from the mid 50's. Any idea who sang what was probably the original version? Who wrote it?

Answer
Hello Hugh,

I'm glad you asked this question. It gives me the chance to rectify a couple of mistakes made in my original answer last December (I was probably rushing off to a New Year's Eve party at the time :0]).

This song was actually called "I Don't Care" and was a #1 Country hit for Webb Pierce in 1955, and for Ricky Skaggs in 1982.

Glad to be of help. Cheers.........Mel.

Expertise

I have been hooked on Country music since first hearing Jim Reeves in the late 50s. Two of the greatest nights of my life were seeing The Mavericks and Reba McEntire live in London. I am more at home with traditional Country music, but am happy to try and help with any questions relating to songs up to 2000. Please note that I DO NOT have the same knowledge about country music videos or singers private lives.
