Question
Hey, I need the song title, I can usually find them but this one has been tough. Its about a homeless man im pretty sure and hes singing about how people judge him I think or something like that. He sings about how his wife and child died and im pretty sure the only lyrics i remember word for word are, "The day I buried them, thats the day I lost my mind". Anyways Im not sure if thats an easy one for you but I really liked that song and only heard it once when I was a kid, Hope you can help me out Id appreciate it. Thanks a lot

Answer
Hi, Pete,

I believe the song is "Don't Laugh At Me"  by Mark Wills.

(Allen Shamblin/Steve Seskin)

I'm a little boy with glasses
The one they call the geek
A little girl who never smiles
'Cause I've got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels
To cry myself to sleep

I'm that kid on every playground
Who's always chosen last
A single teenage mother
Tryin' to overcome my past
You don't have to be my friend
But is it too much to ask

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm the cripple on the corner
You've passed me on the street
And I wouldn't be out here beggin'
If I had enough to eat
And don't think I don't notice
That our eyes never meet

I lost my wife and little boy when
Someone cross that yellow line
The day we laid them in the ground
Is the day I lost my mind
And right now I'm down to holdin'
This little cardboard sign...so

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm fat, I'm thin, I'm short, I'm tall
I'm deaf, I'm blind, hey, aren't we all

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I can usually locate song by artist, excerpts and even circa around when the song was released in country, rock and other genres. ****** PLEASE do not ask me about videos. I do not watch them.******** I've been singing since I started talking, singing in public since I was 7. Still at it at 56. I have an extensive repertoire as well as lots of music. I also actively research for other people, including local djs, music that no one else can find, especially being given just paraphrased lines of songs. I'm the one @ karaoke that usually gets asked, "Who did this song?" or "Do you know a song that goes" and if it's country, I usually can name the song and artist, sometimes give within a couple of years the year of release. I've got a lot of lyrics in my database, as well as friends with working musicians who do open mic jams who have even more extensive databases than I do.
