Question
I'm trying to find the artist and the name of the song. It was in the 80's or early 90's. It's about a bar, guy is messing around on his girlfriend and she walks in and catches him. It says something about you could have heard a pin drop or something to that effect. I want to say it was sung by one of the artist that has a deep voice. It came out about the same time or maybe a little latter that Straight Tequila Night by John Anderson.

Answer
Hi, Lesa,

I'm not sure this is the song you requested; but it does havethe line you stated was in the song.  The song is "Tonight The Heartache's on Me!" by the Dixie Chicks.  Lyrics are:

You Could've Heard A Pin Drop
When They Walked Through The Door
Had To Turn My Eyes Away
My Heart Had Fell Through The Floor
Someone Whispered, "Where's Her Halo?"
She Had An Angel's Face
He Stood There Smiling, Holding On
To The One Who Took My Place

So...
Chorus:
Tonight The Heartache's On Me, On Me, Yeah!
Let's Drink A Toast To The Fool Who Couldn't See
Bartender Pour The Wine, 'Cause The Hurtin's All Mine
Tonight The Heartache's On Me

I Wonder If He Told Her
She's The Best He's Ever Known
The Way He Told Me Ev'ry Night
When We Were All Alone
She'll Find Out When The New Wears Off
He'll Find Somebody New
She'll Learn What Heartache's All About
And What I'm Going Through

But...
Repeat Chorus

I can usually locate song by artist, excerpts and even circa around when the song was released in country, rock and other genres. ****** PLEASE do not ask me about videos. I do not watch them.******** I've been singing since I started talking, singing in public since I was 7. Still at it at 56. I have an extensive repertoire as well as lots of music. I also actively research for other people, including local djs, music that no one else can find, especially being given just paraphrased lines of songs. I'm the one @ karaoke that usually gets asked, "Who did this song?" or "Do you know a song that goes" and if it's country, I usually can name the song and artist, sometimes give within a couple of years the year of release. I've got a lot of lyrics in my database, as well as friends with working musicians who do open mic jams who have even more extensive databases than I do.
