Hi Dawn!  The song that immediately came to mind when reading your question is "I Told You So," originally by Randy Travis but recently redone by Carrie Underwood.  While the words don't match up exactly, the overall idea is the same.  I've included the lyrics below and a link to a video.  If this isn't the song you're looking for, let me know and I'll keep searching!  Hope this helps!
