Question I'm looking for a video that was out around the same time as Chattahoochee. It's got a man in a white hat sitting at the bottom of a flight of stairs. The lyrics say something about stairs, but I don't remember what they were.
Answer Hi Jess! I'm not sure, but I think the song you may be looking for is Mark Chesnutt's "Brother Jukebox," which was released in 1991. (Alan Jackson's "Chattahoochee" was released in 1993, but both videos were popular and played for quite some time thereafter.) In the video for "Brother Jukebox," Mark is wearing a white hat the entire time, and around the one and a half minute mark, he goes home, takes his hat off and climbs the stairs (to the lyrics "I go home and I climb that old stairway..."); then he comes back down the stairs and sits down. Hopefully this is what you were looking for!

Artist: Mark Chesnutt
Song: Brother Jukebox
Brother Jukebox...sister wine
Mother freedom...father of time
Since she left me by myself
You’re the only family I’ve got left
I go down to that same old cafe
Where I try to wash my troubles away
I’m still down and I’m still all alone
But it beats stayin’ home all night long
Brother Jukebox...sister wine
Mother freedom...father of time
Since she left me by myself
You’re the only family I’ve got left
I go home and I climb that old stairway
And I tell myself "Tomorrow’s a new day"
But I know I’ll just go down again
And spend my time with my new next-of-kin
Brother Jukebox...sister wine
Mother freedom...father of time
Since she left me by myself
You’re the only family I’ve got left
