About Beth Burgess
Expertise
I can answer just about any question about lyrics or the artists who recorded the songs--80s and 90s country especially. I don't watch many new videos, but the older the video question, the more likely I am to be able to answer it.

Experience
I've been a country music fan for all of my 25 years! I somehow have a knack for being able to remember all the words to all the songs (and who sang them for the most part) even though I can't carry a tune to save my life!

Education/Credentials
I'm currently enrolled in law school (so if I can't remember an answer off the top of my head, I have excellent research skills!)

Country Music - sad country song from possible late 90s

Expert: Beth Burgess - 10/29/2009

Question
I'm looking for a song/video.  I thought it was sung by Brooks and Dunn, sad song, acoustic guitar about a womans death.  Video had male singer sitting with thunder in the back ground.  Lyric stating something to the effect of "she's gone"

Answer
Hi Lucy!  I think you might be looking for "You're Gone" by Diamond Rio.  (Such a sad song, but the vocals on it are amazing!)  The lightning doesn't come until the very end of the video...around the 2 minute, 54 second mark, so keep watching.  Here's a link to the video and the lyrics for you.  Hope this helps!

Artist: Diamond Rio
Song: You're Gone
Album: Unbelievable
(Jon Vezner/Paul Williams)

I said hello I think I'm broken
And though I was only jokin'
It took me by surprise when you agreed
I was tryin' to be clever
For the life of me I never
Would have guessed how far the simple truth would lead
You knew all my lines
You knew all my tricks
You knew how to heal that pain
No medicine can fix

And I bless the day I met you
And I thank God that He let you
Lay beside me for a moment that lives on
And the good news is I'm better
For the time we spent together
And the bad news is you're gone

Lookin' back it's still surprisin'
I was sinking you were rising
With a look you caught me in mid-air
Now I know God has His reasons
But sometimes it's hard to see them
When I awake and find that you're not there
You found hope in hopeless
Your made crazy sane
You became the missing link
That helped me break my chains

And I bless the day I met you
And I thank God that He let you
Lay beside me for a moment that lives on
And the good news is I'm better
For the time we spent together
And the bad news is you're gone
The bad news is you're gone
