In 1997 there was a song being played on the radio, some of the lyrics are I wish I could see him sitting on the porch one more time. It was a male artist. Could you please help me with the name of this song?

Hi Kathy!  I think that you may be thinking of John Michael Montgomery's "I Miss You A Little."  It was released in 1997.  What a great (sad!) song!  I've included the lyrics and a link to the video for you below.  Hope this helps!
