Question
you Beth-  pre 1973 lyrics (probably 60's): "...don't wake me, I'm dreaming; don't wake me, I'll cry; when I get that feeling don't let my dream world die...". Who and what please.    sir.ralph

Answer
Hi Sir Ralph!  The song you're looking for is Jack Greene's "Don't Wake Me I'm Dreaming."  It was released January 1, 1969.  Mack Warner also released the song in 1968.  I've included the lyrics for you below.  Hope this helps!

Lyrics:
It sure is good to be back in your arms again
To be loving you the way I used to do
I knew all along someday your love I'd win
That time would finally bring me back to you

Don't wake me I'm dreaming
Don't wake me I'll cry
Let me keep this feeling
Don't let my dream world die

[ piano ]

Your lips are touching mine the way they used to do
You're saying all the words I wanna hear
I've forgiven you for leavin' with your someone new
And all that matters now is that you're near

Don't wake me I'm dreaming...
Don't wake me I'm dreaming don't let my dream world die

Expertise

I can answer just about any question about lyrics or the artists who recorded the songs--80s and 90s country especially. I don't watch many new videos, but the older the video question, the more likely I am to be able to answer it.

Experience

I've been a country music fan for all of my 20+ years! I somehow have a knack for being able to remember all the words to all the songs (and who sang them for the most part) even though I can't carry a tune to save my life!

Education/Credentials
Juris Doctor. (So if I can't remember an answer off the top of my head, I have the research skills to figure it out!)
